Due to limited public transportation options in the City of Worcester, AIDS Project Worcester, Inc. provides cab rides by scheduling to clients within Worcester city limits and surrounding towns to use for medical appointments.
The following guidelines apply to transportation services:
- Clients are required to set up a cab at least 24 hours in advance of a medical appointment.
- Clients must be HIV positive and or be being referred to a detox program by Syringe Services Program (SSP).
- All necessary paperwork must be completed, including the Prescription for Transportation (PT-1) form from MassHealth.
- Clients must be at the agency to receive a bus pass for all other transportation needs.
- Transportation (cab services) only may be used for transportation to medical, dental, mental health and alternative therapy appointments.
- Clients can also utilize the transportation services (cab rides) for return trips from APW’s support groups.
- Clients must conduct themselves in an appropriate manner when using transportation services provided by APW.
- Clients are not permitted to change the destination of a cab ride. Only APW’s approved transportation coordinators are allowed to make those changes.
- Transportation Services are for client use only.
AIDS Project Worcester, Inc. reserves the right to suspend or terminate transportation services to clients who violate the transportation guidelines.
